My name is Chris and I have finally picked up the car I have wanted since I was a kid. My dad had five of them when I was growing up and I have wanted one ever since. It is a 1966 Fairlane 390 4spd Z code car. It has a very straight body and I'm super excited to get this build going. Thank you for letting me join and any info you guys/girls can give me.

Welcome aboard! Looking forward to seeing you out on the track. What type of build are you planning? What's your time frame for completion?

Bill

Excellent. Welcome aboard. as stated earlier what's the plan for the build. It would be Gould to see a FE powered Ford racing. I have a 390 in my 69 Ford f100

Great car. I grew up with mom's car being a 289 powered '66 or '67 Fairlane 500 2-dr hardtop. I really liked that car.

If your gonna build a 4 speed you should consider the 427

That would be kool :gears

But then you would need a diifferent user name :bang

The build will be taking a little time since I work weird hours and don't have a lot of time. I will try to build it as fast as my budget and time will allow though :aok . I haven't decided if I want to build a GT clone or just build it how she was originally which would be a XL500. I was looking at some of the trim today and it doesn't look the best. So I might just build a GT clone since it doesn't require trim on the bottom of the car. I also have a little floor patching and a small patch on the passenger side rear lower quarter, but nothing crazy. It will be a stock appearing car with a 4.250 stroker kit going in the 390. I want the rest to be a little bit of a surprise for you guys and girls 8). As far as building a 427 clone, I just don't have the money for that kind of build. The blocks alone cost $3500 and are extremely hard to find. Thank you for all the welcomes and I'm super excited to get the car done and race with everyone. :aok

Just imagine the sweet noise that four muscle cars would emit while going all out, four wide. One word EPIC.

I'm hoping that when my car is done and the higher up's see that we are serious down in the south. That they will give us the honor of getting the name of this awesome series down this way too. We could all get together once a year and have a huge turn out. :aok I know Brian know of a couple people that are very interested

It would be awesome if we could get people in TN,SC,NC,AL,GA and FL to all meet in a central location like GA for a southern meet. Then once a year we could all meet up for a big meet. I know a lot of the people that are down south are very interested but it's hard to get away from the family multiple times a year to do it that far north.
