Hello all,

I thought I'd introduce myself and share my build. My name is Edward McMahon and I live in the Philadelphia area with my wife and 3 year old son. I have been friends with Ralph and Sharleen for about 25 years so that's how I found out about Supercars. I guess you could say I'm a reformed Mopar guy who's into Fords now. :-D , Actually I've had one or two of every make over the years and have a deep appreciation for all muscle cars. I thought it would be fun to do a big block Ford so I'm in the beginning stages of building a 429 (ish) Super Cobra Jet. I've started to accumulate the parts and will post pics soon.

It really is amazing how fast many have you have gotten your cars to run on polyglas, wide-oval, redline, etc tires! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and being able to come out and play like the old days...albeit in a much safer environment than the highways and byways of CT.

Cheers,

Eddie

Awesome, need some ford variety in the mix for sure. Count me in for being curious about what body you are putting the engine in. And, slushbox? Or will it have a "man pedal"? :gears

Bill, I have also known you for years (through Ralph and the Pike). Glad to see you on here and look forward to seeing your Roadrunner at the strip!

It is going in a 71 Mustang. Torino & Cougar are pretty heavy and the cubic dollars required to make a 4100 lbs car competitive is not feasible for me.

LS5Chevelle, no man pedal for me this time. My 92 Notchback Mustang is a stick as were most of the other cars I've owned and raced. I'm thinking the next car I build for Supercars will be a "289 hi-po" Comet with a stick. I've got a nice 347 hanging around that needs some air.

Sounds like a great combination Eddie. It should fly.

And, slushbox = consistency. I went through it with two different LS1 cars. They made similar RWHP #'s, (which means the auto car was making more at the crank), but the automatic car would mop the floor with the six speed car. Hard to beat a 4400 converter and 275/60-15 drag radials. But, the six speed was more fun to drive.

AWESOME!!! Can't wait to have you in the other lane Ed :bow . I like the 71 Mustang as the number one choice the Torino as the second choice. Two of my favorite 1971 429 Fords.
