Not sure what happened to the original picture. :shrug

Just an update, the hood and fenders are off and stripped. The deck lid has been stripped, and a patch welded in. Core support is off, sandblasted, and patched. The front stone guard was in rough shape and full of holes after sand blasting. It is now patched and has been rough body worked for the meantime. He got it running, the 350 2bbl runs like a champ! Hard to believe after sitting so long. (1989) No smoke, leaks, or funny noises. We picked up a 71' YS 400 engine and matching TH400 trans about 4-5 weeks ago. Needs rebuilding, but was a good deal considering it was complete and full dress. Decided to deviate from the original color scheme of Cameo White w/ an ivory interior. Will now be Sundance Orange with a black gut and black GT sword stripes. Right now, lots of cleaning going on. It had a repaint, and the stuff is like rubber. It loads up a stripping pad disc really quick. We've resorted to hardware store paint stripper to remove the bulk so far. I'll try to get some more pictures up soon since Chris is a slack azz.

A little bit to report, both fenders and the hood are completely stripped and primered. Picked up a Hurst shifter, bellhousing and a BW super T10 4 speed. Decided on not swapping to black interior - and Sandlewood instead. The crappy weather has put a damper on any real progress lately. (LOTS of rain!) I will snap a few pictures next time I am over there working on my car.

I wish Chris would find his way back over here and update. The car is almost completely blown apart now. About to start some rust repair and get it all in epoxy primer by the end of this year. :cross

Pretty solid car, has typical rust from the vinyl top. And a very small amount behind each rear tire. The front fenders were the worst, but he picked up a MUCH better passenger side fender that isn't dented and has a lot less rust. That is going to save some time.

Also was able to pick up a nice pair of bucket seat cores, solid inner fenders, and a 12 bolt rear for the car.

Nice score yesterday, found a 72' WS 400 1.3 miles from his house! It was very complete - long block, intake & exhaust manifolds, distributor, etc. Plans are to sell off the 71' YS 400 and use the 72' engine - since it is more "correct."

Ralph - I believe he recently PM'd you about a name change. Since he ended up with a Pontiac instead of a fairlane. :P

Almost ready to start the metal work. He should be done stripping and priming everything tomorrow. Looking at a week or two out to start patching the rust areas. New goal is to have it body-worked and painted by the end of next spring. (2013)
