you can get one that fits the large opening at (ground-up resterations), ss396.com . They are located in Connecticut. I used one of those also and worked out well.

Thanks Mike,

Been there a few times, good to know. Have you ever been to the annual car show they have ?

Hey I removed my A/C from my H/O and got an after market A/C delete cover. Between the A/C box, compressor, brackets and condensor was a 55 lbs savings.

Thanks John, I was hoping that the AC delete cover would be OK, sure would be a heck of a lot easier with that cover.

Didn't see any rules about this. First did a search for Air conditioning didn't find anything. If your car has factory air, do you need to retain it ? Can you remove everything. If I you do an L89 or LS6 in a '70 chevelle, they did not have AC, so does the factory AC limit you to only combos that we...

The Head in the link above says replacement for the L-88 head, which is the 842 I believe. Does that qualify ? would like to avoid buying a vintage head soft aluminum and some one else could use it on their restoration as well. Too bad the CNC'd AFR 335's on my Monte weren't eligible LOL... The Mont...

Your rite on with doing a 70 chevelle so you can use a 4150 holley and alum. intake! It would be the low rise alum. For 70' The high rise maybe but some would want doc's on its use in 70! The aluminum head 70 chevelle is a go as i did one before i went to the nova! The 074 head would be correct, bu...

Thanks Guys, I have a pump gas '71 Monte (10.30's) and a pump gas '70 Chevelle (12.30's). Would like to do the Chevelle as it is already in show condition. This will be for my son to race. If I were to build an L-89 for the Chevelle, I could use AL heads ?. What casting numbers could I use for the h...

Forgive me if I am mis-interpreting this...Rules seem to state that any 1968 to 1973 BBC rectangular port heads can be used on a BBC. So, if my car is a 1970 Chevelle, am I limited to only the specific casting number that would have been offered on the particular motor I was to use, L34, L78, L89, L...

Just need a clarification on casting numbers. There are reproduction cast iron exhaust manifolds available (Ground Up, NPD etc.) for a 454 Chevy, however, the casting number is for a 70 LS-6 Chevy motor among a few others. The casting numbers for the LS5 are different and not reproduced and seem to ...
