The U-joints.

I believe the loop should be within 6" back from the front u-joint to prevent it from dropping down and digging in if the front joint fails. If the rear one fails it will drag underneath or slide out of the tranny. :sick

When I got my first car I wanted all the creature comforts but pops was telling me how all that stuff will be troublesome. Looking at all the wizz bang stuff on new cars you know they are going to have a limited lifespan.

Looks like both racers were having a hell of a time trying to keep a leash on those cars long before they lost it. I know its racing but "knowing when to say when" can preclude any need for safety equipment in the first place.

I've got a 1980 casting 302 long block that was pulled out of an 83 Capri. It was running when removed, history unknown though.

$150 takes it.....
