Installing a line lock now.

It's amazing the difference in tire technology you see when swapping out 200 treadwear 17's for bias ply's, especially on a car with a tight suspension. And now that I mention it, I don't think the Hotchkiss suspension is going to be helping my 60' times.

More progress. Exhaust manifolds prepped and painted. Accessories are on, radiator boiled out and painted, shroud cleaned, engine bay harnesses all rebuilt. I'm typing this in between coats of black on all the bumper bracket components. These 74 cars have one heavy bumper mounting arrangement that r...

Yep, some of the pictures he used were the ones I sent him after I dropped the car off to be put in a container in Newark.

Now we are getting somewhere...... I finished the engine build with some minor hiccups along the way but that just took up time while I was waiting for parts. While waiting I rebuilt the Super T-10 which was in remarkable condition inside. I installed new blocker rings, bearings and seals anyway. Th...

After a long hiatus that included kids little league, installing a new deck in a ski boat, enjoying said ski boat and a few projects around the house I found an opportunity to jump back in. Some stuff happened in the background. My short block is almost complete. Based on a 1970 010 4 bolt block I h...

Not a whole lot of progress but I got the engine parts to my regular machine shop guy. I ended up finding a block that did not need line honing, an original 1970 4 bolt main block. So its in for a bore/hone, square zero deck and the rotator balanced. It shouldn't take long as he churns out stuff fas...

No field goal practice. The subframe is installed and aligned laterally and diagonally within 1/16" from the front leaf spring eye. I got a bunch of other parts bolted on. Next is reinstalling all the firewall/cowl stuff and then finish the suspension and brakes to get it back on its wheels. It...

I wanted to shoot the subframe in one shot so I devised a way to stand it up on dolly's. My kid wiping it down. The roof of the canopy just touched the top of the frame so it got a coat of overspray. :P 20170304_113515.jpg Spray booth all sealed off 20170304_121203.jpg After 2 coats epoxy prime and ...

I reached a good turning point last night. The previous owner cleaned and sprayed from the rear seats to the rear bumper with a Rustoleum "espresso" semi gloss brown which looked very close to the factory color I unearthed after removing undercoat. So I ended up finishing the job all the w...

More progress albeit slow. Put some metal back in. Pretty much done with the welding for now. I need to blend the patches and paint the underside of the floor and firewall and then I move to reassembly. The subframe and control arms are at the blaster now.
