Should be a good bang for the buck, Chris. Those Fox Bodies are pretty much scienced-out. You should have a lot of fun with it.

I am all about a close drag race that is decided by a fender-length or less at the stripe. Nothing better in my view. How about a more extreme Quick 4 or final 4, and let the 5th position and down run 2 out of 3. Or, keep the Quick 8 if you have enough cars for a tight field. I do think the Sportsma...

Don't know for sure. If you hacked on them enough, they could probably come close to a CJ head's perfomance potential, but not exceed it. They don't have really any inherent advantage over a CJ head. Some have a hair smaller combustion chamber.

Can you give us some cast iron numbers we can post on the rules page. C6AE-U, C6AE-R, C7AE-A, C8AE-H are all common 390 FE heads that you could buy cheap and have money left over for some port work, compared to tracking down the "correct" Cobra Jet casting needed for 428 cars. Ryan, You ar...

If a company made a replacement head that looked like, weighed like, and offered the same level of performance as the OEM head, to the point where you could call it a reproduction head, use it. That way we would not have to rely on 40 year swap meet parts. With regards to the Ford FE heads, they are...

Ralph, rumors are rumors- unless there is evidence that it's true I don't think they should be thrown around on the internet. http://www.empgmc.com/race/knafelad.jpg :agree, we just don't know. (Someone Does) What does suck is when the sanctioning body doesn't stop a rumor or cleari...

I think the bottom 4 of the Quick 8, the consolation rounds, would have been very competitive if Ted had'nt caught that Hail Mary running Ed. Not taking anything away from anyone, just saying Scotty, Ted, Harry and Myself were all within .2's of eachother. Just an observation.

Thanks, Ralph and Sharleen. It was a good event, and it was good to see everyone one more time before real Winter weather gets here. Nice to see some pics up so quick as well, helps to savor the day.

Thanks,

That is some sad stuff. I think those pics are actually Ford's Dearborn plant. Where they made Mustangs as well as many other vehicles. I could be mistaken, though.

Not mine, but seems reasonable unless you have to have a "numbers" car.

Ralph,

I got your message about this event. Although I will be at the Ford Carlisle Event, I am not bringing the car and I don't plan to race. I don't like the 1/8th mile track and I have too many parts to scrounge up for my new Fairlane project.
