SuperCar ShootOut @ E-Town

Run during the 23rd Annual Mopar Collector's Guide, Mopars @ E-Town Nationals
Saturday evening came and so did the predicted rain showers. As day break came, the clouds and rain went away leaving us with an even better day than Saturday. The air was clean and crisp. some of Saturdays racers chose to head home for the weekend, a few chose to stay, and a handful more made their way to Raceway Park.

We knew this would be the day to set records. With perfomance hinging on crisp clean air, tune-ups were checked and every last bit of horsepower was found for round one of qualifing.

The next question was, would the famed Raceway Park quarter mile be ready for the added horsepower applied to the surface? The question was answered when Chris Kuskowski, on his first qualifier, set the World Small Block record in Factory Appearing drag racing with an 11.43 E/T at 118MPH.

The field made it's way through the qualifying heats. Dalton Beaulier found his Road Runner had an issue with it's 727 Tranny and had to pull out of the race.

Three newcomers to the SuperCar Field were Mike Derasmos with his 1971 Chevelle SS 402 4 Spd, Fred Meyer Jr. with his 1968 SuperBee 383 and his brother-in-law Buck Wing with his 273 powered 1965 Coronet.

The three of them battled each other for Top Honors.

Chris and Ralph battled for the Top Eliminator Honors. After a day of racing,

Chris Kuskowski once again found himself taking the Top Eliminator position away from Ralph Barbagallo.
